Escalava is the evolution of the São Miguel boulder project. The new location will be in central Ponta Delgada – sporting a brand new state of the art TopOut build dominating the 132sqM space – fully equipped and up to code.
Expect 80-100sqM of climbing area with a variation between slab, vertical sections and overhang. High quality safety padding and everything you would want to see in your local mid sized boulder gym.
We plan to start with 40 sets of screw fix holds from Euroholds, starting with the Voolcans Family (pictured) and covering all basic and some more complex setups.
The timeline we expect is to launch early 2027 – the climbing community of the Azores has been growing steadily and we are excited to provide them with the high quality space they deserve.
